Privacy Policy

Updated 24 May 2018

In the interest of full disclosure, here’s our privacy policy:

Traffic Monitoring

TheTexasWildflower.com uses WordPress.org (Privacy Policy) and Google Analytics (Terms of Service) to track and measure traffic on our website using cookies (definition of cookies). This is done so that we can monitor interest in our stories, better understand our target market, and generally improve the quality of our website, newsletter, and online store. You can turn off the use of cookies at anytime on your device by changing your specific browser settings (WikiHow Instructions for Disabling Cookies).

Comments left on our website require a name and email address. One may opt to comment anonymously using a fictitious email address, but understand that this option may result in your comment being perceived as spam via our Akismet (Terms of Service) spam monitor and thus deleted. With the exceptions of our “Contact Us” and “Calendar Submissions” pages through which readers voluntarily provide their names and email addresses so that we may answer questions via email, we neither collect nor store this type of information collected via the website.

Newsletter Subscriptions

Our monthly newsletter subscriptions are created solely on the initiative of website visitors and with their full consent using digital subscription forms on our site powered by MailChimp.com (Privacy Policy). We only collect names, email addresses, and ZIP code information using that service. We do not sell names or email addresses to third parties. Subscribers can voluntarily opt out of our subscriptions at any time within the newsletters themselves via a link at the top of each digital publication.

Affiliate Programs & Amazon.com Disclosure Policy

In order to fund our work and support our mission, we run advertisements and host a virtual store on this site. Our online store and ads are powered primarily by Amazon.com through their Merch by Amazon and Amazon Services LLC Associates Programs. Some Amazon.com advertisements (“targeted ads”) on TheTexasWildflower.com may be driven by your own recent search history on Amazon’s websites, but we cannot access that information in any way. Please refer to Amazon’s privacy policies regarding the collection and use of your search history and credit card information as we cannot access that information either through our site or our affiliate account. We also cannot determine which (if any) products were purchased by whom using this service via our store or links. Those transactions are one-to-one, between Amazon and individual customers.

Per our agreement with Amazon, we are required to share this disclosure: Pamela Price of Wildflower Media Group, LLC., the publisher of this website (TheTexasWildflower.com), is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

We do have a limited number of items sold via CafePress.com under our brand name (“The Texas Wildflower”). Here is a link to their Terms & Conditions. We are able to see who purchases items through that site, but we do not collect, store, or otherwise use that data.

This privacy policy is subject to change with a 7-day notice on this page. If you have any questions feel free to contact us.
