Once a year the Hill Country Alliance puts on a heckuva free eco-wise festival. This year’s event is slated for Saturday, October 20 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park.

Here’s why we think you’ll want to check it out:

They’re serving up live music, food trucks, and wine. Those are essential to any proper Hill Country party, right? This one features Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison at the end of the day as well as a “tour” of the region’s winery.

Tiny houses are all the rage — and you can take a closer look at this phenomenon. They’re smart solutions for weekend getaways or every day living.

Artisans, artists, craftspeople, foodies, and more will be on hand, too. Whether you’re in search of something to get, give, or merely tuck into your gift closet for the holidays, there will be plenty of goods to check out at the festival’s Hill Country Marketplace.

It’s a family-friendly festival  Sustainable living begins at home, and the kids will have fun while exploring the interactive Raindrop Stop for Kids.

You’ll learn how to be a good steward of the Hill Country. Whether it’s discovering how to harvest rainwater or learning a little more lightly on the land, you’ll find a wealth of information–come rain or shine!

To learn more about the festival, see the Hill Country Alliance website and the festival’s Facebook page.
